As we journey through the book of Luke, we’ll follow the same pattern every week. We’ll pray and read, worship, follow, and sum it all up by looking at how our readings contribute to peace in our lives.
If you’re following along in the book, we’re on Day 7 and beginning Week 2.
I like to choose a verse from my weekly readings and use it as I pray. This week my verse is
Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord. (Luke 1:45)
Lord, help me to hear your voice and believe your promises.
Luke 1-2:20. This link will take you to Biblegateway.com where you can read or listen to the Scripture in many different versions. Please take your time as you read. These may be very familiar verses. You might consider reading them in a version that isn’t your usual version.
A few questions for your journal (or things to underline in your Bible):
What did these verses tell us about the character of God? Include God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
What kind of people did God reach out to in this passage?
Think about the actions of the people in these verses. Whose example do you want to follow? Choose a specific person (or group of people) and a specific action. For example, the shepherds heard a message from God, and they followed it promptly.
